Word Add-In cannot be activated?

In word I can't see the zotero toolbar any more. I've found out that the plugin is installed, but for some reason not activated. I tried to follow the steps to activate the zitero add-in for word but it didn't work, as the zotero add-in did not show up in the list (after clicking on "go" next to "Com-Add-Ins".
what is the reason/solution to this problem?
