cross referencing does not update

My question is about cross-referencing. If the first time my source is used are in footnote 10 and the next time i refer to the same source this footnote refers back to footnote 10. However, when I have added sources/footnotes in my text so that the first time the source is mentioned is no longer in footnote 10 but have changed to footnote 11, the refrence in the following footnotes referring to the same source still refers back to footnote 10 (which isnt right beacuse now this footnote is another source). I use Oscola.
  • Have you tried switching to a different style and back?
  • Thank you for answering! Only tried to switch in between oscola and oscola without ibid. Is it free from risk to change to a whole other style without loosing the text/comments I added before and after the reference in the footnotes?
  • I mean, save before you do this, of course, but yes, it should be risk free
