Report #1886772923 - Import RIS file error "XML ContextObject"

I'm trying to import downloaded RIS files (from Scopus and EBSCO db's) into Zotero desktop, but every time I get an error message that says "an error occurred importing the selected file with "XML ContextObject"". It then just creates an empty collection with no items. My colleague is having the same issue. We are both using Zotero 6.0.16 (the most recent version available through our organization's software portal). Any help appreciated.

Sorry, we can't provide support for old versions. 6.0.16 is ten versions behind the current version.

You can try resetting your translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences, but otherwise you'd need to try a newer version.

(It could also just be a problem with the files you're trying to import. If you open the file in a text editor and paste one of the records here, we can tell you.)

@LindsayTaylorECCC: It looks like a recent change broke importing in earlier Zotero 6 versions. We've pushed out a fix, so your Zotero should start working again in a few minutes, but you should still update to the current version of Zotero when you can. We can only ever provide support for the current version.

Thanks! It is working now. But I've asked our IT to update our org software portal with the most recent version of Zotero to avoid cases like this in the future
