Storage access after leaving institutional storage license

If your institution has bought institutional storage, can you still access anything already part of the storage after leaving the institution or do you have to download anything stored online and save it locally to be able to access it?

E.g. you are the owner of a group library, therefore other members of the group also have the unlimited storage option in this group but what happens if your unlimited storage via the institution ends?
  • Institutional storage ending (or you exiting it) is exactly the same as lapsing a storage subscription:
    - Zotero always stores everything locally by default and those attachments obviously remain available when a subscription ends, so you don't have to explicitly download anything -- you just have to make sure you're fully in sync, including files.
    - Only your storage matters when you're the group owner, but you can transfer group ownership if there's someone else in the group who still has unlimited storage and is willing to assume ownership.
