This will also italicize book titles of chapters - if that's not OK it's a bit more involved. Also have a look here, this may make things easier for you: http://steveridout.com/csl/visualEditor/
Hi, I'm using the output style for the journal I want to publish with (energy for sust. development)... I downloaded the style from the repository. The problem is that the bibliography list is in order or appearance and the journal request it in alphabetical order. Do you know how I can modify the output style file to match the journal's requirements? This is the link to the text file:
iw ould like to ask you how to arrange citations for the Journal klinische Pädiatrie (Klin Padiatr). I used the existing style but references are numbered sequentially as they appear in the text, while the Journal requires them to appear alphabetically in the reference lis (in text ciatation with [1], but references sorted alphabetically).
"References: Alphabetically arranged and consecutively numbered. The text features only the reference numbers in square brackets. If an article or book has more than 3 authors, it will be suffi cient to mention only the fi rst 3 authors with the suffi x “et al.”. Journals in the List of References Ohmann, C. Klinische Studien in der Pädiatrie: Herausforder ungen und aktuelle Entwicklungen. Klin Padiatr 2008; 220: 221–223"
I have the same problem as Grigore, same journal and there is no other matching style searched as I searched the entire night. Do you think it would be possible for someone to create a klinische Pädiatrie (klin Padiatr) citation style? You would be such a great help for me!!
Hello @adamsmith. I downloaded your citation style however am facing some problems. i finished my paper already using Chicago manual of style (full note) citations. When i now switch to your alphabetical version, the numbering of the references changes accordingly but reference numbers in the text stay the same (as before). Instead of filling in the new adapted numbers a new list is created below the bibliography in which the two numberings are translated into each other. E.g 1- 47, 2-25... Maybe there is an easy solution ? Thanks in advance !!!
Hi guys. I am struggling to get the right citation style for a journal. I basically need the Vancouver style but in alphabetical order and with the brackets [#], and not parenthesis (#). I am trying to change the vancouver style but i must be doing something wrong. Please help.
I tried installing Vancouver with alphabetical numbering from the 'Raw' link from http://gist.github.com/277460 (like you suggested years ago). my problem is I get this error after I drag the file in firefox and it starts installing in zotero. the error is: canrad.csl" is not a valid CSL 1.0.1 style file, and may not work properly with Zotero
I need to cite and reference with vancouver style but the references don't order alphabetically. I just checked and zotero is up to date. Can you please recommend some advice?
Hello @adamsmith , I tried to download the style, because I have the same problem as Grigore and dennodo. But when I click the link, it is not working. Could you help me with this? Thank you!! Mellie
I am writing for "Klinische Pädiatrie" from Thieme. This is written for the literature on their homepage:
"Alphabetically arranged and consecutively numbered. The text features only the reference numbers in square brackets. If an article or book has more than 3 authors, it will be sufficient to mention only the first 3 authors with the suffix “et al.”. "
OK. I cannot find a publicly available .pdf of a recent journal article in order to confirm this request and then put in a fix for the style. If you have a link to a publicly available article, that'd be great. I searched for 15min.
Please, may I ask you for your patience. The PRs (pull requests) are under review and that will take some time. We're only a bunch of volunteers doing this in our free time. Pushing with several posts doesn't help your case.

Finally, once you have your style working, make sure to share it:

Which journal are you trying to submit to? (please provide a link and the ISSN)
"Alphabetically arranged and consecutively numbered. The text features only the reference numbers in square brackets. If an article or book has more than 3 authors, it will be sufficient to mention only the first 3 authors with the
suffix “et al.”. "
Is that information what you asked?
Thank you very much!
https://www.thieme.de/statics/dokumente/thieme/final/de/dokumente/zw_klinische-paediatrie/Information_for_Authors.pdf
Is that enough? thank you!!
(Google scholar advanced search --> Article published in "Klinische Pädiatrie" und dann auf seit 2017 beschränken und nach PDFs gucken.)
Looks like the style needs a custom style.
Should we create a thieme-german-alphabetical.csl or just a custom style for this journal?
Thank you!!!
