Cursor in the notes text field

I've having a problem with the cursor changing its position back to the very beginning in both standalone and child notes if I stop typing for a second or more. This does not happen in at least the one other larger text field that I tried, the "Abstract" metadata field for a Journal Article item. I first noticed this problem in 2.0b7.r5577 and it is still present in .r5578; additionally, it was a problem in Firefox 3.6b5 and is still a problem in 3.6 RC1 (both on OSX 10.6.2). I've also been able to replicate this in a freshly created profile. I submitted debug output D1475275250 after creating a new standalone note and adding four sequential phrases, each after waiting a second and observing the cursor repositioning itself.
  • Does this happen if you disable auto-sync?

Are you using a search of any sort when this happens?

Does this happen in an external note window?

When you say that this happens in a freshly created profile, do you mean an empty profile with no data?

    Report ID?
  • The "Report Errors..." is grayed out. It does occur in an external note window. It does occur if I disable auto-sync. I am not using any kind of search.

I notice now that the cursor reposition appears to happen as the main window updates the notes contents.

When I say a freshly created profile, I mean a Firefox profile that I just now created in which I have just installed Zotero (and only Zotero), and just added a single item with one child note and a single standalone note.
  • Can you provide a Debug ID from the fresh profile?
  • Yes, it is D223759332.

I'm seeing this too, in a standalone note. This ID with auto-sync enabled: 564318887

    Problem persists after disabling auto-sync.
  • Fixed in r5581. (Started in r5572.) Thanks.
  • I was just getting frustrated enough to report this, and it's fixed before I had a chance. Thanks, Dan, and thanks hefixesthecable for fixing and reporting it.
  • r5581 solves the problem for me. Thanks a lot for the speedy fix, Dan.
