Annotations made with external pdf viewers show on Zotero iOS, but not on Mac OS

Currently shifted from using Zotfile + Google Drive to Zotero with a WebDAV. I notice that my prior annotations made with either Okular/Foxit PDF Reader show up when synced to Zotero iOS (and its PDF Viewer), but not on the Zotero PDF Viewer for Mac OS.

The File > Import Annotations... always appear grayed out for me too.

The PDF file is partially corrupted, and even though PDF viewers can display it, the annotation importer is more sensitive and crashes. We'll try to improve this in future.
