Zotero creating random in-text citations?

Hi!

I am using AMA 11th edition format and I noticed the numbers 205 and 206 alongside the correct in-text citations (63,108) in my document, yet my bibliography does not include anything over 180 (which is the total number of unique work). Those numbers are totally random.

When I highlight "63, 108, 205, 206" the field becomes grey, indicating code, and then when I click add/edit citation, the field to edit my in-text citations is completely blank.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also noticed that my Zotero was taking forever to Retrieve Metadata the same day. I do not have any updates to complete for the Zotero software, and I just updated my MacBook. I am using Word 16.74. Thank you.

Are any of these in a table? That causes some Word-weirdness with fields

And you have a bibliography added and refreshed in the document, so you can see it only goes to ~180? This is the only place this happens at?

Yes! Bibliography is at the end of the document and I have tried refreshing a few times. I searched and this only happens in one place.

Could you right click on the field, toggle field code, then select the whole thing *except* the bold {} at the beginning and end, copy& paste here?

That's not from Zotero. It's a Papers2 citation

That's very strange. Perhaps my collaborator put that in there? I never heard of Papers2. Thank you!
