Files not available/syncing - Mendeley and pdf import

I just downloaded Zotero and transferred from my Mendeley library, and then have been slowly importing a bunch of pdfs that weren't in Mendeley. I paid for extra storage because I ran out of space, and then I clicked on the green arrow to sync. It seems to have no errors, but I still have a lot of pdfs that are transparent (i.e. can't be found). These are mostly in the files downloaded from Mendeley, but there are even a few that I manually imported.

I just re-imported the whole Mendeley library to see if it would fix it, and merged all the duplicates. But there are still several entries with the pdf missing.

There shouldn't be duplicates if you followed our import instructions. If you imported some other way, you should sort by Date Added and delete that entire batch of items, empty the trash, and import again using the importer.

Beyond that, it's not clear what you're referring to. Where don't you see the files? In Zotero locally, or in your online library?
  • I wasn't seeing the files in Zotero locally. I did as you suggested and started from zero, though the date added showed the date it was added to Mendeley instead of the date it was added to Zotero so I think I deleted more than I wanted to.

Anyway, it seems to have worked, I reimported all the Mendeley articles and the pdfs all seem to be there now. Now to reimport the pdfs I accidentally deleted. :)

    Thanks for your help!
