Is there any risk in having two instances of Zotero open simultaneously?

Sometimes I would like to have open both the desktop app and the web version of the library (also on the desktop). Can this cause database corruption or other horrible consequences?

While working with an attachment in the desktop app PDF viewer, I'll sometimes come across a citation to another work that is of interest to me. I'll then want to check if this other work is in my Zotero library. It can be more convenient to make this check if I can go to another instance of Zotero.
