Generating basic stats relating to a specific collection within a given library

Hi Folks,

My sincere apologies if this question has been asked before, because it almost certainly has, but is there a way to generated some simply stats about a specific collection within a given library?

Having created a a collection entitled "Argument Mapping in Law", I now have a total of 196 items recorded within it. All I want to be able to do is to break this figue down by type. E.g., number of journal articles, number of books, number of conference papers etc.

I could of course just go an manually count the number of items in the collection, but given how laborious this is, I just wondered if there was a way to have Zotero generate these stats. If there isn't I will export a bibtext file into excel and play around from there.

Many thanks.

  • Nothing built in, no. You can sort by item type, though, and then just select all items of each item type and the number of items selected will be shown on the right. Otherwise, Export not as BibTeX but as CSV to do more analysis in Excel or similar.
