Zotero freezes on Microsoft Surface Hub

I am using Zotero on Microsoft Surface Hub (a large touchscreen device) with Windows 10. PDFs are synced via Zotero, but due to storage constraints I am loading them "on demand". Whenever I open a PDF for the first time, Zotero freezes for 5-8 minutes. Once loaded, it seems to work fine. I found some touch screen related bugs on the forum but they seem over 8 years old, so I don't think they'd still be relevant?
