run time error inserting into open office

I've installed the new version of zotero, plus appropriate open office plug in but can't get the insert citation/bibliography or set document preferences to work on my Mac. As far as I can tell the macros are there as they should be in open office and the toolbar is there but when I click the set document preferences button I get a message which says 'BASIC runtime error. An exception occurred Type:com.sun.star.beans.UnknownPropertyException' and the macro highlights sPropertyValue = thisComponent.DocumentInfo.getPropertyValue(sPropertyName). When I click the insert citation/bibliography buttons nothing happens at all.
Can anyone give me an idiots guide to what I might need to do to fix it? Thanks
  • Same problem here. I am supposed to run Zotero 2.0 and followed all the instructions on the webpage to integrate it into OpenOffice. Toolbar is there, but nothing happens if I try to insert. When I click "Set Document Preferences" I get a BASIC runtime error.
I would also be very happy to receive an idiots guide...
  • Update: I just installed OpenOffice 2.3 RC3, reinstalled the OpenOffce.org Components in the Firefox add-on Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a5, and now everything works...

Note: I am using Mac OSX 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard).

I am also having the error:
BASIC runtime error. An exception occurred Type:com.sun.star.beans.UnknownPropertyException
I have uninstalled and reinstalled OpenOffice and Zotero with no change (I was having the same error before and after uninstalling and reinstalling).
If you have any ideas that would be great! Also, if you fixed this problem could you post exactly what you did? I am new at this and have hit a wall!
  • Sorry, I can't tell you more. If anyone more experienced reads this, I guess it would be great to receive some help, looks like quite a number of people run into this...
  • I have exactly the same behaviour, using OpenOffice with Snow Leopard, and Leopard also (different machines). Zotero works well with NeoOffice and MS Word.
I tried using it on a Virtual Machine running Ubuntu (last release), but nothing happens with OpenOffice.
    Someone can help me?
