Feature request: Annotation across pages

I just began using Zotero and I really appreciate how much it helps with organizing and reviewing research. I do have one problem that I've seen others raise as well: Highlighting/annotating across pages. This is a common issue as sentences often flow across page breaks.

I understand that there are technical issues involved, especially when there are footers/headers that interrupt the flow of text. However, it's a critical capability and the workarounds that others have identified seem very clunky.

This is a very important area of functionality and it appears that many users are struggling with it. Can some priority be placed on the development of a solution?
