how to add imageJ so it cites as the authors prefer?
Hello,
On the imagej website, the creators say that it should be cited as follows. How do i enter this into my zotero library so that it shows up this way in my bibliography?
Rasband, W.S., ImageJ, U. S. National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA, https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/, 1997-2018.
I have tried entering it several different ways with the information in different fields of entry and it never seems to show up looking like above. Thank you!

The general paper of ImageJ flavor(s) used; e.g.:
If you used Fiji, cite the Fiji paper.
If you used ImageJ2, cite the ImageJ2 paper.
If you used the original ImageJ, cite the ImageJ paper.

All three references are just normal journal articles described by standard metadata, so maybe this is actually a non-problem?
It gives two options that are papers, but I was hoping to cite the actual software, too.
You should include the relevant info (authors, publisher, URL) in the metadata and then let the citation style handle the rest. In general for software citation it's be typical to cite the date of the software version you actually used, not the whole span of its develpment, but if you really want to cite a year span, use
issued: 1997/2018
in extra.
