recognizing the new added reference with the an old cited one

I have lost all my library I used for my dissertation. I created it again from the beginning. When I used it, Zotero cites the reference as a new one. However, it already cited from the old lost library. What to do to make Zotero identify the new added reference as the old one i used in the word document

Using the quick format citation dialog, you should be able to select existing references in a document under "Cited" after searching e.g. for the author or the title. https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage
