Cloud Storage and Annotations

If I use the Zotero app on iPad or Mac and I save a PDF article, does that take up storage on my device or is it cloud-based storage?

Also, when I annotate an article, is there a way to send or export/print a clean (annotation free) version of the article?
  • On the Desktop (i.e. Mac, Windows, Linux) version, files are stored locally and then synced up to the cloud (assuming you have that set up). Not sure about iOS -- that might work slightly different.

For the second question: annotations made with Zotero aren't stored in the file, so if you open that in any other PDF tool (e.g. after using Show File on the Desktop), it'll be a clean copy.
