Add the "extra" field for links and notes

As in quite a few other posts, the "extra" field is suggested to be used as a simple and convenient rating system. This works great for regular library entries such as books and articles, but not for links and standalone notes, as the "extra" field is missing for them.

I use links and standalone notes a lot and I would like to rate them, so I am wondering if the "extra" field could be added to them as well? Thanks!

I don't think so, no -- it's a metadata field that doesn't really fit into the data model of non-metadata items.

Have you considered colored or emoji tags for ranking instead?

I do, and colored tags are previous resources for me to mark out items. They run out quickly as only nine available, and it's hard to use them to distinguish 1-star, 2-star, 3-star items. Instead, by using the "extra" field, I can use many stars and different shapes of stars for rating.

To fit into the current data model, I am wondering if it is possible to "elevate" links and notes to metadata items?
