APA 7 - semicolon missing in in-text citation of multiple authors

edited March 23, 2023
When referencing more than one author in an in-text citation, they are only separated by a space. The semicolon is missing.

Instead of
(Smith, 1895, p. 4; Wesson, 2012, p.56)
I only get
(Smith, 1895, p.4 Wesson, 2012, p. 56)

Bug or feature?
  • The APA CSL style definitely includes the semicolon. Can you confirm that you are using APA style and not, eg, ASA style?
  • We have very few styles without a delimiter (ASA also uses semicolons, e.g.)
-- are you getting this in a new document, too?
