Upgrade StorageDatabase Size Too Big?

In fact a dataze of s slight smaller size was synced OK. I since then added a collection with PDF copies of the references. But for the sync I deliberately told the system not to sync the files. It did not work. I hope you can find a solution. Many thanks,
