Chicago Style (Notes and Bibliography) - Bibliography Entries for Unsigned Newspaper Articles
"Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note)" produces bibliography entries for unsigned newspaper articles with two quirks:
1 - The entries include a comma following the title of the article (i.e., the entry reads: Newspaper Name. “Article Title,” Date.) CMoS 14.199 calls for a period instead of a comma.
2 - If the bibliography includes multiple articles from a single newspaper, the name of the newspaper is included for each. CMoS 14.68 calls for a 3-em dash instead of repeating the name.
I realize this will affect a very small number of writers (those using unsigned newspaper articles AND required to include those in a bibliography) but wanted to flag it for any future revisions to the code for "Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note)"

adamsmithI don't think we can fix 2. The CSL author-substitute logic (at least currently) only works on names.
