Unable to search inside a note

Whenever I click on the magnifying glass in the tool bar for a note, the top-line tool bar disappears. This has been a problem for a while now and I see that others have raised it, but this bug has not been fixed. The only way I can search inside a note without the tool bar disappearing is by double clicking on the note and having it open in a new window.
