Seeking a Citation Style: optimized for online use, with hyperlinks to bibliography items
I'm looking for anything similar to this for use on blogs or other online publications. I would like the in-text citation to consist of two hyperlinks. Example:
“Hearing loss is the most common sensory disorder in humans with an incidence of approximately 1 in 1,000 children.” (1 www)
The numeric value links to the item in the same document's bibliography, and the text "www" links directly to the item's URL (i.e., a separate webpage).
Clicking the "1" will jump from that location in the text to the corresponding bibliography item at the end of the same document. Clicking the "www" will open a new browser tab pointed to the item's URL.
The bibliography item style should be similar to:
1. Hsu, C.-H. et al. (2005) ‘Hearing loss in mitochondrial disorders’, Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1042, pp. 36–47. Available at: https://doi.org/10.1196/annals.1338.004.
DOIs where available should be cited in full (https://doi.org/10.11141/ia.24.8 not doi:10.11141/ia.24.8). The link in the bibliography item should be clickable too and clicking it will open the same online location as clicking the "www" link in the text.
Minor point: the "www" shown above as the 2nd hyperlink will ideally be replaced with something like Unicode Character 'LINK SYMBOL' (U+1F517). (This forum did not allow me to use that symbol. In reality, it can be any character or series of characters. I expect it to be a constant symbol, not sequential numbers or unique values like the bibliography item refs.
Anything similar to this will be acceptable.
