Selecting part of highlighted text

Is it possible to select and copy part of the highlighted text in inbuilt pdf reader? When you click on the highlighted text, all of that particular highlight is selected but sometimes there is a need to only copy part of it. I tried by holding alt key but it didn't work. Is there a direct way? Thanks
