Annotation link options

I'm using Zotero's default PDF reader. When I create an annotation, I can easily copy it to my clipboard (Linux). (I usually do this by clicking the annotation and use CTRL+C, but I get the same result if I drag and drop the item from the left pane or from the PDF.)

I appreciate the zotero:// links that are included. Example shown below:

“Hearing loss is the most common sensory disorder in humans with an incidence of approximately 1 in 1,000 children.” ([Hsu et al., 2005, p. 36](zotero://select/library/items/A8L8GE69)) ([pdf](zotero://open-pdf/library/items/PMUKHI63?page=1&annotation=WUPKUYJX))

Is there an option to change this template? For example, how can I include a DOI link like this?

([DOI](https://doi.org/10.1196/annals.1338.004))

What other options are available for customizing

  • Sorry, not currently customizable beyond the options in the Quick Copy settings to include or not include the links.
  • Also wishing for some degree of customisation in the template.
  • Hi,

    I wonder about this too.

My use case is to put technical standards into zotero, then I want to reference PDF annotations in my technical design documents and in other places. The idea is that by doing this, relevant sections of the standards can be referenced easily.

Our documents are written in asciidoc, so this requires a different formatting of the quick copy output.

I don't know if zotero is the perfect tool for the job, but so far, the annotation capability looks very promising.

If I wanted to develop a custom plugin, would it be possible to hook into the quick copy behavior to change it? If so, where would I start - maybe someone has a pointer which function needs to be overridden?

    Best regards
    Alex
