Migration of annotations to new PDF file version
I have been using Zotero as my go-to PDF reader for some time, mainly because of its features related to PDF annotation, and to organization and tagging of document libraries.
Regarding PDF annotation, I have some large PDF documents on which I spend significant time reading and annotating. Every now and then there will be a new incremental release of these documents (they are technical specs or technical standards), and it would be great to be able to update my document version without completely losing my previous annotation work.
Based on my programming experience, solving this in a generic and robust way may be very challenging, but a best-effort approach of just successively finding the new location of an annotated text block, plus some way to manually review the results and compare it annotation-by-annotation between the two versions, would already be excellent.
Anyone else having a similar needed?
Otherwise, congratulations to the developers on an excellent product!
