Download PDF locally via Zotero extension without using cloud space

I didn't realize I have a limit on the Zotero cloud storage. Previously when I click the extension button on Zotero, the PDFs get sync'ed to cloud and downloaded locally. My storage is now full, and when I tried to save PDF I am told there may not be enough space on the cloud storage, but I have space on my laptop. how can I directly download the PDF onto my hard drive via the extension button?

    The Zotero Connector always saves to the Zotero app as long as it's open and there's not a communication problem. It would only try to save directly to your online library if you told it to do so when the app was unreachable. You can clear credentials from the General pane of the Zotero Connector preferences to disable that.
