Inserting in text citations in bold all caps, why?

Suddenly Zotero started inserting in text citations in bold all caps, this only affects new citations, not the ones I already made - and I haven't changed citation style (it's Chicago 17th author-date). What gives? And how do I change it back to how it was?
  • Which citation processor? Can you take a screenshot, upload it somewhere and post a link here which shows the issue? Does it happen in a new document?
  • It's in Word, and now it is not doing it further down in the document, but I still can't change that particular citation to non-caps and any other citations I insert in that place are also inserted in bold and all caps.

  • I was able to identify it as a problem having to do with Word "styles" somehow (not sure how), and I was able to fix it by cutting the section and reinserting it as pure text in to a section already marked with the style "normal", and reinserting the citations, which was then no longer bold or caps.
