zotero://open-pdf/ link

First I was getting error ("ColorPop error") very often when I trying to change the annotation color using Zotero internal pdf reader. Then i learned that the 6.0.22 has 3 additional colors available, so I upgrade it from the previous version 6.0.21. Then the color error resolves itself.

But now I was unable to open zotero pdf reader using the link "zotero://open-pdf/library/items/VTRS7W23?page=2&annotation=MGFHCGNX", which works for me before the upgrade (so in 6.0.21).

If pertinent, I used the plugin zotero integration to export annotations and create links to obsidian.

Can you reproduce this with a link created by Zotero itself (i.e., Quick Copy on an annotation or exporting a note with an added annotation to Markdown)?

If so, can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing it?
  • Sorry I was not sure how to reproduce the link by Zotero itself.

But I tried the two supported formats as mentioned in [discussion](https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/86980/quickly-create-a-open-pdf-link), by just typing them in markdown document and the second one can work.

    - zotero://open-pdf/library/items/[itemKey]?page=[page]
    - zotero://open-pdf/groups/[groupID]/items/[itemKey]?page=[page]

    The Debug ID is D1666778821.

    Thank you so much.
  • Those are the same format. One is just for My Library and the other is for groups.

If you're having trouble with something, start by disabling all your third-party plugins.
  • I'm having the same issue using a link generated using the steps described by @dstillman. It just switches to the app by doesn't open the specified pdf or annotation. All third-party plugins are disabled, using version 7.02
  • zotero://open-pdf/library/items/[itemKey] is working in 7.0.0-beta.52+2f8e536f2 but not in 7.02 (tested with plugins disabled)
