Zotero is using 'et al.' when there are ony 2 authors.

Zotero is set to cite using 7th ed APA, but I find that sources with only 2 authors are cited as 'et al.' To illustrate,
(Smith & Johnson, 2021), is cited in text as, (Smith et al., 2021).

Help! :-) How do I fix?

Can you test in a new document? APA style definitely wouldn't do this, so either you're using a different style (though, very, very few use et al for 2 authors) or you're using the 'wrong' Smith & Johnson citation
