Citations using just the last name and year - APA7

Experts,

Need your help. We want to moderate the APA7 style in Zotero to produce inline citations with only the last names, et al. where necessary and the year.

Can you please suggest how this can be achieved?

As opposed to what? Generally, that is what APA style does

The inline citation now reads (lastname, firstname, year).

I need to format my citations as (lastname, year)

Your data is entered incorrectly in Zotero (likely as lastname, firstname in a single field). APA style would never create that with correct data.
