Upgrade StorageSlow response with multiple PDFs open
Hi team, my zotero on Mac and PC works fine with few PDFs open, but when I open 10+ PDFs (few pages each and only ~1MB), it becomes slow and laggy. A PDF is killed and need to re-open after some time.
I understand there are built-in plugins/functions, but it's much slower compared to Chrome/Acrobat.
My Mac/PC runs the latest version system, so as the Zotero. The memory usage is ~1GB. I really enjoy using it, except when I need to open many PDFs inside. Can you optimize the response speed and

The number of PDFs you open shouldn't matter that much, since Zotero will only keep a limited number in memory. On Windows, Zotero's total memory usage is currently limited for technical reasons, so it will only keep 2 PDFs in memory (or 3 in the upcoming version 6.0.22).
In any case, the next major version, Zotero 7, will be much faster in general, and it will also allow more PDFs to stay in memory on Windows.
The opening time for the same PDF is quite random (1-5s), but yeah you're right, opening time is not significantly growing with opened PDF number. Just frequent switching makes it more noticable.
