Creating new columns

When I open Zotero, I see MyLibrary in one column, the Title in the next, then Creator and finally a small column for notes. I want to add three more columns like my Dissertation Chair has: one each for Year, Publication, and date added. I have looked at the tutorials online, but can't seem to locate instructions on how to do this. Does anyone know the process?
