Can't get references into Overleaf

I have Zotero premium and Overleaf premium on student plan, and I can't get the references from Zotero to show in Overleaf. I have linked the accounts, and created a private key. I upload the references in BibTeX format, and get a bib-file called "references". When I look into references, it is completely empty. It does not help to refresh.
What could the problem be?

Overleaf integration is their feature, you will need to troubleshoot with them (and if there's an issue w Zotero, they'll know what to report here)
