Instead of having "Author 1" + "et al.", Zotero in Word (Footnote) is showing all authors

For sources with multiple authors Zotero should show just the first author and add the phrase "et al.". In the little preview when adding the source, Zotero shows it right. However, in the word document all authors, seperated by a backslash will be shown. Any help to fix that ?
The citation style is BFuP (german)

Whether Zotero uses et al or not depends on the style. BFuP currently isn't set to use et al. and I see at least 4 authors without et al in recently published articles. Where are you seeing the et al requirement?
