Second reference appears as 1 again

    I have an issue with adding intent citation. I just started using Zotero. When I added the first reference (Vancouver superscript) it worked beautifully, then I try to add the next reference which should appear as 2 superscript but instead it appeared as 1 again. now I have two superscripts 1,1 for different references instead of 1,2. Help rectifying this would be appreciated. I working on a MacBook if that makes any difference
