Highlighting a PDF through the web library/interface

I normally use the PC standalone or tablet versions of Zotero. Today I accessed my library and PDF documents using the web interface. I was able to open documents using the built-in PDF reader and select text, but could not find a way to apply a highlight to the text. I checked several documents and used both Chrome and Firefox with the same result.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This feature is not yet present in web library but will be added in the future. (for now pdf reader works read-only)
