Changing first citation based on existence of subsequent citations
Hi there,
I'm trying to write a style but it's been a while since I've last done so, so might have forgotten that this option exists. I'm trying to get the following done:
* If an item is only cited once, cite it in full.
* If an item is cited multiple times, cite it in full once, including an abbreviation of how it will be cited in subsequent cites (e.g. "henceforth [Author], [Year]"). After that, cite it only in that abbreviated format.
I'm aware of the "position" variable, but I'm not aware of any way to change a position="first" citation based on the existence of position="subsequent" cites.
Any help would be appreciated.

adamsmithSorry, can't be done, I'm afraid. I think we've mostly just added this across the board to first citations for styles that use it.
