ZoteroPreview download problem

I have problem of dowloading the Zotero Preview pane. This is the error message that pops up.

The add-on downloaded from this site could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt

I'd guess that you're using Firefox and just clicking on the XPI link instead of saving it to disk first and adding it via Tools → Add-ons in Zotero.

When I need to download XPI file I use a browser other than Firefox. Chrome or Safari will download the file to a standard location and you can then do what Dan Stillman said above. Firefox is my default browser but I use Chrome or Safari to download plug-ins.

All you have to do in Firefox is right-click and Save Link As.

I know that is what is supposed to happen with Firefox but for some file extensions I don't get a "save-as" option. This bothers me more than you can know.
