Trying to import podcasts on an android phone...
Hi maybe a short description of my workflow that I'm using, or try to use.
I'm listening a podcast on Antennapod on android, which allows me to share the podcast url (the url where the mp3 is residing) with the zotero app on the same phone. As far as I understand the app is not capable of creating new items, that's why zotero.org/save opens which allows me to add a url and so on.
If I add that url that stems from the app I get an error occurred message and a try again button.
The link that the antennapod app shares can easily be opened in the browser and starts a mp3 player in the browser. So what is the save sub domain actually supposed to do?
Or what would be a workflow from within a podcast app?
Thanks for the help.

The /save page is for saving webpages with Zotero translators. That's not going to work on an MP3 file. If you just want to upload a file, you can add it from within the app if the app allows that or upload it via the mobile web library.

As far as I understand I could write a translator that accepts a RSS feed? Or am I mistaken? But that would mean one translator per feed. Would it be possible to write one for I iTunes podcasts?
actually there is quite a lot of metadata in there. I used the translator for sueddeutsche.de which is a big german online news site and it gave me the title of the article and the source (=Sueddeutsche Zeitung) not the author.
That much metadata is in the feeds as well.
These 2 podcasts for example
https://sharptech.fm/feed/podcast
https://breakdowns.libsyn.com/rss
The provide a distribution date, a title a description and an author, the podcast name is in there as well. So I guess this is a lot of metadata. I went into the mp3 files as well as they provide some metadata inside the file, like title, artist, comments and even some have chapter marks, date, comments and so on.
In the Zotero desktop app there is a predefined element that adds a podcast, maybe that one could need a function to pull info from the feed as well. :)
So I guess there is something that can be done here, would it be better to go on the dev list for that issue? Or is completely out of scope and not wanted to do something here? Don't know who is calling the shots if at least someone is :)
