The same author with two references in the list
Hello, I imported different chapters of the same book to Zotero in two separate files. I use APA 7th Edition. Since I need references on two different pages in two different chapters. I found there are two references in the reference list, with lower case a and b, respectively. The fact is that I only need one reference in the refernece list. How can this be resolved, please?
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.

adamsmithUnless I am misunderstanding, I don't think it can be, but why would you want it differently? Without the a,b, how would a reader know which citation is to which work?

Qingli_XuThe authors are the same for one book, not two books. But in the reference list, there are two, marked with a and b. I do not need two references for one book.

adamsmithOh, if this is the same monograph, it should only be one item in Zotero: don't create separate entries for chapters. You can select both entries in Zotero and use right-click merge: that will keep both attachments and turn the two references into one.

Qingli_XuThank you very much for your message. However, I do not think it will resolve the issue, since there are different chapters. Emerge them, which means I need to chose one of them as the final file in Zotero. Should there be a function to conbine different chapters to one, it might be helpful.

adamsmithI don't understand the problem with merging: a single Zotero item can have multipe attachments. You don't have to choose a final file.

Qingli_XuWhen I clicked Emerge, I was asked to chose one of the filfes. Then in the folder, only file is seen. Actually, I need both or more files from the book.
