'Citation'

Hi! I've recently started using Zotero and it works fine sometimes but other times when I go to add the citation to my footnotes it just puts 'citation' but I've checked and all the information is there. (e.g., name, authors, dates, etc) so I'm unsure what the problem is?

Which word processor? Most likely you just still have the citation selector open, potentially behind another window?
