Splitting citations by the same authors

edited November 23, 2022
Hello,

I am using the "APA 7th edition (single-spaced bibliography)" style and want to cite a few papers by the same authors. However, it is splitting them up even though the authors are exactly the same:

(Brodeur, Cook, & Heyes, 2022a, 2022b; Brodeur, Cook, & Neisser, 2022; Brodeur et al., 2020)

I can see why Zotero does not show "et al" for the first two papers (to distinguish them from the third since the author list differs on the third author). However, the 4th paper is also by Brodeur, Cook & Heyes but shows up separately and as "et al". Why? And how can I make Zotero include it in the list at the beginning, so something like this:

(Brodeur, Cook, & Heyes, 2020, 2022a, 2022b; Brodeur, Cook, & Neisser, 2022)

The papers are:

Brodeur, A., Cook, N., & Heyes, A. (2020). Methods Matter: P-Hacking and Publication Bias in Causal Analysis in Economics. American Economic Review, 110(11), 3634–3660. https://doi.org/10.1257/aer.20190687
