Zotero connector not saving any sources from safari

I've basically been unable to save any sources directly from my browser for several days. I am trying to save from university library databases. My Zotero is up to date, and I've tried shutting down and reopening both applications. It pretends like it's saving but nothing shows up, and the only way I can add sources to zotero is to export them as PDFs and drag them into Zotero.
  • Tried all that. Debug ID here: D475400850. It says "Saving to my library" or to the specific folder, but shows nothing under that.
  • If you want our help, you need to provide the information the page asks for.
  • Web page: https://www-jstor-org.ezproxy.library.wisc.edu/stable/1601660?sid=primo#metadata_info_tab_contents

It doesn't tell me where to find the "name of the translator, if applicable." I therefore assume it's not applicable, as the name is not readily available in my preferences.
  • A Debug ID from the Zotero Connector for reloading the page and attempt to save or, if you're only getting a webpage icon, for reloading the page.
You provided a Debug ID from Zotero, not the Zotero Connector.
The name of the translator from step 10, if applicable
    And from Step 10:
Hover your cursor over the “Save to Zotero” button. The tooltip shows which translator, if any, Zotero will use for the page you are viewing.
If you're going to post here, we really need you to take the time to read the information we make available and provide what it asks for. There's just no other way we can help you.
  • I can't provide a debug ID from the connector because I am getting this error when I try to submit the output:

An error occurred submitting your report.

undefined is not an object (evaluating 'Zotero.Date.dateToSQL')

Please check your internet connection. If the problem persists, post a message to the Zotero Forums.

It is not my internet connection. I'm assuming you don't want me to post the output here.

When I hover my cursor over the save to zotero button all it says is save to zotero (JSTOR).

Oh, sorry, there's a bug with debug output in the current version of the Safari extension. It's fixed for the next release. Can you copy the output and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
  • yeah, just did. thanks.
  • That doesn't show you saving from JSTOR, though — it shows you saving from HeinOnline. That's OK, but it's not what you said above.

You're hitting a login page for your proxy server. Are you able to save an unproxied page, like this forum page?

If you log out of the proxy and log in again, do proxied pages work then?

Unrelated, but it also looks like it's trying to save directly to your online library. If you have the Zotero app on your computer, you would want to save directly to the app, and it shouldn't save to the online library unless you have the app closed and specifically give it permission to save to the online library, which you wouldn't want to do — you would just open the app if you got that message.
  • sorry, I had switched to a new article because I had already exported the first one I was talking about.

Hmm yes I can save this page. However, I've logged in and out repeatedly over the last few days of my library account to try to resolve this issue, and it still doesn't work...

And thanks for the last note; when I was in the Zotero Connector preferences I misread the save to zotero.org option and enabled it thinking maybe somehow I had disabled the save to the App and that's why my documents weren't saving. I've disabled that again.
  • OK, we believe this is fixed in the latest Zotero beta, and the fix will be included in Zotero 6.0.19. If you want to try the beta, let us know if that fixes it for you. (You can switch back to the release version after if you don't want to stay on the beta.)

    Thanks for reporting.
