Superscript citation appears, but referenced sources do not

Hi, I would love some advice or insight:

I downloaded Zotero last summer and tested it out in Word, no problem. Today, I tried using Zotero again and when I inserted a citation I got the superscript number, as expected, but can't see a formatted reference at the bottom of the document.

I opened up my old test document from last summer--thinking maybe there was something weird about my new file--and the exact same thing happened. In addition, in my old test document, the citation numbering started back at 1, so I now I see citations numbered 1, 2, 3, 1. (And no, I didn't cite the same source.)

Help. FWIW, use a macbook pro/MacOS 11.6.8 and MS Word 16.66.1

You would have to insert a bibliography using Add/Edit Bibliography.

You likely saved the file in the wrong format, flattening all citations.
