To Space or not to Space - Zotero Word Plugin
The Zotero Word Plugin seems to be missing a distinction between name-based and number-based styles. In journals that use a (name, year) citation style, the name and year are inside parentheses which is separated by a whitespace character from the last word before the citation. However, in most journals that use number-based citation (in superscript), there is no space between the word and the citation number.
I think Zotero should somehow take care of this (while remaining backward compatible). When I switch from Chicago style to Nature style, I would like the whitespace to disappear and vice versa. Otherwise, I would have to manually do this for all of the references every time I change the style. There should be the option to automatically do this.

adamsmithThe 'while remaining backwards compatible' part is key here -- we could probably have done this very early on when citation styles were first created, but at this point it's just not realistically feasible without breaking a ton of things. That said, in almost all cases this can be fixed globally with a smart search & replace
