Issue typing accented characters in Zotero 6 note editor using Mac US International keyboard layout

I have this very same issue on the latest version of Zotero 6.0.17. When taking notes and typing using my Mac's US International keyboard, if I try to type an accented character, for example, with the following key sequence:

'a

which should result in:

á

it instead ends up as:

'
