Search for author also includes editor?

I want to search for articles by a given author, but this sometimes returns articles that include this person only in the editor field. Even when using the extended search this happens for the setting "author". Only when I select "author" from the additional fields the results are actually limited to articles including this author (but not as editor). Not sure this is intended.

I'm using Zotero 6.0.18 on PC

    There's a distinction between "creator" (which includes editors etc.) and "author" (available only in the advanced search) which doesn't.
