you can not freely select the text in a PDF after you highlight in it

Hello! When I open a PDF in zotero's built-in reader, if I highlight or box a section of text, I can't freely select the text in that area. It's as if my annotations were a mask over the text, preventing me from choosing the text under the mask. I know this is not a bug, but I hope you can improve this setting so that I can choose freely. Thanks a lot!

    Because you have to be able to click the annotation. But you can hold down Shift to select text.
