Importing plain text references in BibTex format

Hello, I am brand new to Zotero and trying to figure out how to import references in my Word docs to my Zotero library. I have read this page: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_formatted_bibliographies. As suggested, I followed these instructions from the page: "If you have many references, you can use AnyStyle, an online bibliography parser written by a Zotero developer."

Then it says to "Export parsed citations as BibTeX or CSL-JSON and import them into Zotero."

How exactly do I do that? I have a Mac and am using Chrome. I have installed the Zotero Connector extension.

Thank you.
  • A bit unclear where you're stuck, but the basics are
    - paste the bibliography into the window on Anystyle.io
    - edit/assign labels if needed
    - click the CSL JSON button under 3. Save
    - From Zotero (the Desktop software, you can't do that on the web), use File --> Import and select the saved file

Hello, I am finally trying this out. I did not see how to make it work saving the info in CSL JSON, since that opened a new browser window and I didn't know what format to save this info in.

However, I tried again in Anystyle.io saving in BibTeX. The file was downloaded to my computer, and when I clicked on it, my desktop Zotero asked if I wanted to import it. Voila!

    So, thank you very much.
